Welcome to Year 4! We are looking forward to an exciting year, in which we are going to be learning about a variety of wonderful topics. Keep checking our website and newsletters to find out more. Our children have created their own class rules and will continue to show the Fruits of the Spirit as they learn and play with their classmates.

Year 4 homework consists of weekly spellings and times table practise. All new homework is given out on a Wednesday and must be handed in by the following Monday. Children will be tested on their weekly spellings and times tables every Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

Children are also given a new Key Instant Recall Facts sheet (KIRF) every half term which shows parents which extra maths basic skills the children need to focus on during year 4. Children are given time to practise all of these different skills needed, but in order to be successful, they will benefit from the extra practise at home.

There is a big focus throughout the school this year on ‘keeping fit’. Year 4 are already enjoying ‘Dance’ this half term on a Wednesday afternoon and learning lots of new moves ready to perform in front of their parents at the end of the half term.

Please ensure PE kits are brought into school every week or left in school and taken home at the end of a half-term.

Year 4 have already enjoyed a variety of practical and exciting lessons. We will upload videos and pictures of our learning on a regular basis to Twitter so don’t forget to check frequently for updates! Follow CTK_thornaby.
