Christ the King
‘Christ be our light and our guide’
Christ is the inspiration of our school. Everything we try to do is inspired by the teachings of Christ. He is there to walk with us, to lead us and to guide us in all we do.
The mission of our school is reviewed each year so we never become complacent and forget our core purpose. We are here to be faithful to His teachings.
Christ be our light and our guide.
Please listen to our school song below. This was written and performed by our children to remind us and our community of our mission. ” We are learning, we are growing, we are sowing the seeds; to be brave and stand up for what we believe…”
Mission Celebration Day – Reviewing and Renewing our Mission
At Christ the King, in everything we do, we live in the image and likeness of God, with Christ as our light and our guide. As it reminds us in John 1:5, light is all powerful. Light can always shine in the darkness but darkness cannot put the light out. Light always wins. With Christ as our example, we try to follow in His footsteps and live a life of love for God and others.
Reviewing our Mission
As a school community we explore the meaning of our mission and look at ways we should be living it out.
This year, we looked have at the words of our school hymn in detail and thought of ways in which we live out these messages within our school and community. this is an important time of prayer and reflection for our school.
We use beautiful images and imagery to gather and focus on.
Inspired by William Holman Hunt’s painting, ‘The light of the World’, we thought about how we could be a light to others in our daily lives with Christ as our guide.
