Welcome to our Class 4 page!
This year will be exciting and jam-packed with activities such as exploring our local area ‘All about Thornaby’ which is a great way for us to show all they know about where we live and to get a better understanding of what’s around them. In History we will also learn about the History of toys (we’ll even get to make or own toys in D&T!). In Science, we will be learning about Animals including humans where study skeletons, body parts and how to keep our bodies healthy.
Religious Education is such an important aspect of our school community. In RE, we will study themes such as New Beginnings, Signs and Symbols and Thanksgiving which help us to explore the Sacrament of Baptism, the story of creation and God’s love for us. We also take time to think about other religions and during this first term, we will look at Judaism in where we will learn about Shabbat in a Jewish Family.
We think reading is very important! Our teachers would like us to be listened to regularly. We are asked to bring in our reading books and records to school every day. We would appreciate it if you could also write a comment to let our teachers know how we are getting on at home with our reading.
Spellings will be sent home every other Friday in preparation for a test the following Thursday.
Our PE days are Monday and Friday. We really enjoy PE in Class 4 and we are expected to wear the full school PE kit.
We hope to have an amazing year together, learning lots of new things and growing together.
