We are now in Year 2, the oldest children in Key Stage 1 and we are ready for an exciting year.

What a great start we have already had in Class 5. This year will be exciting and jam-packed
and we will be learning all about

As well as our core subjects, we will be embracing our Creative Curriculum where we
will travel back in time to learn about Kings and Queens, explore and investigate living things and their habitats in science and putting our fine motor skills to the test when creating toys in DT.

Religious Education is such an important aspect of our school community. In RE, we will
study themes such as family and Baptism. The children will plan and participate in a variety of different worships to further develop their relationship with God.

This really will be an exciting year – as we will celebrate our academic successes, our
developing skills and growing talents.

Reading books with be sent home on a Friday to be returned the following week.
We will have a spelling test on a Thursday morning. We have launched our reading at home challenge. Get a certificate for every 25 times you read at home. Get to 125 and you will receive a special prize. Good luck!

Our PE days are Monday and Friday. Children are expected to wear the full school PE
kit. We hope to have an amazing year together, learning lots of new things and growing together!
